Introduced by a mutual friend, Steven Quartly met Bion Rice in 2016 when they produced their first collaboration of art and wine. Bion is a winemaker from the Provençal winery Sunstone, located in the Santa Ynez Valley. He is also the winemaker and artist at heart behind Artiste Winery. Bion combines his passion for winemaking and the Impressionist movement to create the “Impressionist Cuvée” wine blends that feature the unique artwork of Impressionist painters. He uses old-world blending traditions with artist made wine labels to create one-of-a-kind bottles of wine. Since their meeting in 2016, Quartly and Bion have produced dozens of wines together, fusing Steven’s art with Bion’s winemaking.
